I have a pumpkin that has many droplets of sticky liquid on the pumpkin all over. They look to be comming out of realy small cracks on the pumpkin. It was only growing about 3" per day and it is only 250LBS aprox. What is this and what can I do to stop it.

Not to worry. Is your fruit shaded? if not the skin could be drying out and cracking

Ya I shaded my fruit with a tarp but some sun gets in during the day. I guess we will wait and see what happens. At least it might start growing again!

Throw a white sheet over your pumpkin if you are getting some sun during the day.

Sapping is normal. I have a 985 Werner that has a caramel- colored ring around its base due to all the sapping. I've never had one sap so profusely. Others in my patch have very little sapping.

Joe, James Carlson had one like yours that leaked like a faucet, and if im not mistaken it went real heavy also!

J, Might be a good thing its oozing a little, that way there isnt as much pressure to making it split, just a theroy though.
