these bugs are leaving marks all over my pumpkin and are eating the plant is there a way to get rid of them?

buy a couple different insecticides, then spray the plant and pumpkin

there isnt really anything you can do about grasshoppers short of picking them by hand. iv found pesticides ineffective and its allmost a wasted effort even if you do kill them cause another group will just migrate towards your patch

go to a local garden center and ask the local experts which is best that they have for sale

If you can get ahold of Diazanon then use it but the only problem is that they banned the sale of that stuff seven or eight years ago. So you need to know some one with a garden shed full of the good ol stuff

BC Ben, it depends on where you are. You can get diazinon around here yet...
Not much kills hoppers but I found a plant full of Merit/Talstar certainly deters just about everything. Stuff is icky to handle though and you can't eat any of the plant or fruit after.
