Folks i'm sorry for the remedial question, but its been about 5 years since i've even attempted pumpkins. I've run into the dreaded "vine borer" problem again. I can't even remember the correct name for the insect/worm. What is the latest cure(?) for this issue? I vaguely remember some sort of insecticide that only a licensed exterminator or farmer possibly had access to. Is this still true to this day or is there some product over the counter that prevent this problem in the future. I'm excited to be back in the mix again and i'm already looking forward to the off-season soil prep work. Thank you everybody for any help/advice you can give me.

Talstar works also. I believe you can get Talstar 1 online somewhere.

Scimitar CS has the same active ingredient as Warrior, and doesn't have the restrictions in most places i believe.
