I was wondering if you could give worms pure coffee grounds? I have a small vermincomposting system and am looking to make it bigger in the coming months. I have about 3 coffie shops close to my house. I know for sure two will give me the grounds. One is a star bucks and the other loves the community. Can I feed worms pure coffee grounds and filters?
Thank you to anyone who replys.

Sure. they love it. I would mix it with compost or leaves. I drop all my grounds and filters into the compost pile.

in a small vermicompost bin, you dont want to add too many at a time, depending how large the herd of worms is, because coffee grounds are high in Nitrogen and acidic. add them in moderation or you will kill your herd.

Worms do not like anything "acidic"...like oranges, pineapple, ect. They will eat coffee grounds in moderation, ie. when mixed with other food.

stan that is untrue they LOVE pineapple, and we feed them lots of oranges. Throw all vegetable and fruit scraps to them, if they do not like them "fresh" thing change as they get old. I do not know the answer to the original question for sure, but the worms will adapt pretty easily. if you have started already with other stuff and pour lots of coffee grounds they will migrate to the grounds when they are ready
