It looks like I finally got one set on the main of my 848* after many attempts, looks to be almost 30'out and growing fast. Problem iZ I have set 4 others on side vines while Ive been trying......848* X 1470, 848* x 651 (500Wallace X 1502 Wallace), 848* X 1041McKie, and 848* X 1385 Jutras........the one on the main is the 848* X 1016 Daletas......Main was set on 7/25....Biggest on the side is around basketball size. Would you cull the rest off and go on the main....or just let em all grow and go for seedZ.....ItZ a hard decision for me....??

Gary, Cut down to two immediately. Main vine plus the biggest fastest side fruit. Then measure on day 10 and by day 15 keep the fastest grower. The side fruit can grow just as fast as the main vine fruit.

Wiz Russ is right on this one, but don't cull the 2, just disect the vine they are growing on, Do it over 3 days or so, so you don't shock the plant. At 30 feet out, you won't miss a couple vines. and you can keep them all,
Now if this was the Biz, I'd say pull the whole friggen plant and start over next year

Took off the 651 cross this AM. I will do what both Russ and Eddy suggested. Slowly.......Main vine greenie is bigger than a grapefruit but smaller than a bowling ball but is growing good. Im still a bit concerned it may abort but its growing pretty good. All the others aborted as soon as it hit the ground. Thanks all for your help. I want to keep the 848 X 1041 McKie.....and the main vine 848 X 1016.
PS Eddy....pics coming soon of the 1016 Daletas you gave me to grow....measured 168 lbs last night...Beautiful pumpkin......Thanks ICE!
