Ok, here are my 10 day measurements for 3 of the 4 fruit on my plants.
449 flag plant - main fruit day 10 = 27"cc and 2ndary vine fruit day 10 = 28"cc.
500 flag plant - main fruit day 9 = 17"cc and 2ndary vine fruit day 10 = 29.25"cc.
both main and 2ndary on 449 plant are growing good and equally.
the main on the 500 plant is only growing about 1/2" per day so she may be aborting, meanwhile the 2ndary fruit is blowing up like a balloon.
Since i will prob only have 1 fruit on the 500 plant, i am thinking of keeping both on the 449 plant now.
any advice is greatly appreciated.

It depends on what you want. If you want the single biggest fruits possible keep one on the main vine on each plant. If you're happy with several smaller pumpkins keep all of them. Secondary fruits are often faster starters than main vine fruits, only to fizzle later.

but if the main on the 500 plant has basically stopped growing, and it is the only fruit on the main, might as well keep the 2ndary, correct?

Yes Jeremy. If the main doesn't make any gains in 3-4 days, I would say it has stopped.
Anyhow, if the main has indeed stopped, go with the secondary fruit.

1-2" is still pretty good when you get over 200#. AS long as it is growing, let it go. Examine the area around the fruit as well to make sure there are no problems such as SVB's or such.
