I have 555 Janicek that has produced 20 pumpkins, then I terminated the side vines, probably would have produced more. Question. I'm thinking of keeping two pumpkins going, is it best to have the pumpkins as far away as possible or does it not matter. I can go with 12ft & 14ft, 12ft & 15ft, or 12ft and 18ft, the only problem with the one farthest out is I just pollinated it today. Thanks

i think you should keep two far enough apart that they wont interfere with your caring for them

You have to consider just how big these things can get. If you have them set at 12 and 14 feet and then each pumpkin grows to several hundred pounds...they are gonna come in contact with each other. A 500 pound pumpkin could measure 3 to 4 feet or more across.

i am as of right now keeping 2 fruit on each of my 2 flag plants.
on the one plant, 1 fruit is about 12' out on the main and the other is about 10' out on the 2nd secondary vine.
on the other plant, 1 fruit is about 12' out on main vine and the other is on the 5th secondary out from the stump.

Decided to keep one at 12ft and one at 14ft. I accidently kicked one of them, I hope I did not do to much damage.
