As you may have heard from others in my area, we had a late start here, 3-4 weeks behind. Do you think it is better to go with beachball keepers at 8-10 feet on the main, or softballs at 12-14 feet? I'm thinking of keeping a couple insurance policies, but focusing on the beachballs. Weighoff is in the end of Sept. Thoughts?

Last year I had a pumpkin that taped 900lbs on day 60. it went on to be 1048lbs. So 60 days from pollination gave me about 90% of the final weight. I think I would go with the beachballs.

Kept the beachballs, culled most of everything else. Let the ride begin, I'm not doing this next year (I say that every year)...

Bob, You have two beachballs on one plant now? That's decent. Are you going to narrow down to one soon? I'm happy to have one softball so far lol.

Yeah, I'm taking the bigger sets close in, done hoping for better sets out farther. Two plants, one on each, I'm done for now except the ride. Good luck Doug! See you at Stillwater in a few months? Missed you last year. I'm out of here for a week now, fed 'em, sheets, bye bye....

How'd you guess Richard? Big, round, ribbed, and orange. Going for the Dill again in Howard's memory. How's that fish working for ya? Hopefully I'll bring some home.

Bob, Not sure if I'll get to Stillwater this year, or not. We'll see how things work out. If I do go, you might have competition for that Dill Award, as the 603.5 Mullers I'm growing throw great color. Enjoy your vacation...if that's where your going.
