i notice alot of people shade their fruit by pounding wooden stakes into the ground and placing a tarp over the 4 stakes.
how do you anchor the tarp to the stakes?
rubber bands, clips?

I bought a little grommet tool and put the eyelets oneach corner of a 3' square piece of tarp I cut. Next, I put a wood screw in the top of the stake. Stretch the tarp over these four stakes with the screws through the eyelets. It makes it easy to remove when you want to measure the fruit. When the pumpkin outgrows this cover it's time for a hoop house or a white sheet for cover.

I go straight to a hoop house with blue tarp, a big one to boot. Keeps me from having to change it in mid season. WPM
