I have had a female that I would thought would have been ready to open a few says ago, bu nothing. Every night I cover it up with a baggy with holes punched in it and every morning I take it off because it hasn't opened. Last night I noticed that the bottom side of the unopened blossom seemed a bit softer than the rest. I also has some slight coloring to that side that makes me think it is dying. It didn't look any different this morning. Is this normal or is it dying?

females will do this....they tease and imply...lead on...then for some unknown to most reason , some never follow through. We like to theorize why but the fact of the matter is we just don't know.Personally, I think its a "team building" game they teach at the monthly Female's Union meetings....

Did you try dinner and some soft music?

So, if the dinner and gin do no work, it probably isn't going to open is what you are saying. Do I wait to see if it dies?

i have had females do this in the past and never got pollinated. my last chance pollination at 31' on my one plant did this to me this year and i had to go to work. i forced it open the morning it should have been open like all my bagged male flowers. at 7 am i couldn't wait any longer cuz i was already late. used a stick through the pinched petal, opened her up, and did the deed. she is still growing at 8 days and hopefully won't abort. it was my last chance, so i had to take the risk. i will update later if she makes it all the way to fruition.

She may be waiting till marriage. Seriously, it may be a dud that will never develop. The discoloration and soft area doesn't sound good.
