I have 4 day old fruit on your 521.5*. Fruit looks solid and happy, smooth skin and all. its about 11" circ now. I have heard that squashes have best quality when eating as small. So should I pick that now or can I still wait couple of days and not loose good eating quality?

As if Glenn and his squash aren’t battling enough problems, now people are eating them

the fastest growing ones are the best tasting - cut those off the plant first.

Wait till day 8. Fry in a pan, add butter, salt and a dash of pepper.

You don't need to add salt if you till it into the soil in the spring

The early pumpkins are always tastier from someone elses patch. Serve on a bed of secondary vines,(the Main is kinda chewy), with Fish/kelp sauce on the side for dipping. Also use un-opened males for a garnish. Serves 4.

Craig, thanks for the tip of tilling salt into in the Spring. I used do work couple of years ago in fish smokery and i believe they will sell me rough sea salt on fair price. I calculated little and it seems that 400 pounds/1000 square feet is just right amount.
Iceman, if size does not matter on this subject I will wait till DAY10 before eating that squash, vielen Danke.

I like them pickled.....grab a bunch off the vine, sit down and drink a few captain and cokes...after you get pickled everything tastes good.
