Once you have your pumpkins set and growing I am interested to hear what kind of care is given to the pumpkin it's self?

How many people keep the pumpkin shaded?

How many people clean the pumpkin?

What do you use to clean the pumpkin and how often?

Do you use moisturizer or aloe on the pumpkin to keep the skin in good condition?

I am interested to hear the different techniques people use to care for there prizewinner.....

simple white sheet thrown over pumpkin is good enough. If I were to get dirt on my pumpkin I'd use plain water in a spray bottle. Do not use moisturizer on your pumpkin some people use a towel soaked in a calcium solution and leave it on the pumpkin until it dries to help prevent it splitting open but very few people do this.

daily stem massages are mandatory as well as tickling the blossom end. She always enjoys a bit of cuddling as well.

Talk nicely to it at least once a day, check the stem for any splits again daily, keep covered with a white sheet during the day. At night when temps fall below 60 use a blanket to cover it to keep warm. Feed it with fish and seaweed to grow nice big healthy pumpkin. Any water sitting on my nice little bird bath developing on my one pumpkin gets removed daily. As much TLC as needed and repeat as needed.
