They grow great without soil. Better if the nutrient solution is ideal. Fewer diseases with nearly 100% control of the rootzone moisture.
The probelm we run into with AGs is the space needed. I've wanted to try using a large hot tub for the main & conventional bath tubs for each auxilary node (ie secondary).
Nothing money can't overcome.
