How EXACTLY does one stop secondary vine growth? I am growing my A/G pumpkin plant over my lawn.

Take a pair of scissors in your right hand (left hand if you are a south paw), put your thumb in one hole and your index finger in the other. Place blades of scissors over vine where you want it cut and close the blades. Vine growth is now stopped. Really it is not that difficult. Just decide where you want the secondary vine the end and cut it off, I use scissors but a knife will work, simply breaking with your hand words as well but occasionally it kinks instead of breaks. I will bury the vine at this point but frequently it is sticking up into the air several inches so this isn'r practical. I guess you won't be burying the vine if it on your grass either. Some people will put a fungicide on the cut. I have never found the need to do that. I let the limit of my patch determine where and when I am going to be terminating the growth mine are about 17' long. If you have unlimited space then it becomes a more difficult question. Most growers only let theirs grow 10-15'. I don't get too concerned about how far from the node I am cutting the vine 1-3" is my average. Far enough away to not damage the last leaf but before the next one.

Hey Brian C., you're a funny guy. I just thought there was more to it than that. Thanks for the reply.
