Subject:  trouble with the rain

in the last few days we go alot of rain, everything was fine untell i started looking close at my pumpkins i noticed a split on the stalk going into the pumpkin the split is about two and a half inches long so i put some foam sealant in the split. now that pumpkin is on the main 13 feet out and i cant aford to cull it, so i would like to know what you all think about my situation and what you would do about it? and one more thing i do have a back up on that plant that is on the 3rd secondarie and isout6ft

Can you post a picture? There are lots of ways to treat a split depending on how it looks.

that young it must be a growth wrinkle(maybe with some ozzing),,post a pic the pumpkin is still very solid at that age I wouldn't mess with any sealant,,,let it grow

saw the pic,,,should be no problem,,,if you are worried set up something to help keep it dry like a tarp or smaller covering it will also serve to shade the fruit
