was eagerly awaiting my first female to open and it finally did yesterday. the stigma's in the flower were not very,(for lack of a better word)in order, symetrical i guess you could say. it didnt look unhealthy or anything but i guess im concerned if this means that something will be wrong with the pumpkin since the stigmas were not in a perfect circle. also, wondering if or how late july 15th in northern nh is very late or not? appreciate any responses and thaks again for all the help!

Hey Justaroofer. Did it look something like this ? http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=89504 You will sometimes get deformities in the female. I would avoid pollinating this one if you can. Do you have any others about to open ?

i have never kept one as scrambled as i did on my 1041, but the next one down the line didn't take and so i went with it. time will tell if it blows or makes it to show, but it is the fastest growing pumpkin i have ever had in my patch. at 74" circ. this morning on day 17. maybe it is a freak in a good way i hope. ya never know though. if it blows, it will be the last scrambled eggs blossum i ever keep unless like this one where i had no choice but to keep it as i ran out of room.
