I think I have been too timid with ferts instead relying more on tea and straight seaweed/humic foliar and drench to play it safe, I see where people use 30-30-30 and other high concentrate ferts like miricle grow. I have stunted secondaries and am debating going heavy on ferts after I know my keeper is safe from abort to get more plant behind the fruit. any suggestions?

Shaker, it is natural for the plant to slow down its vine growth during the fruit set stage. Pap likes to talk about how plants switch gears from root growing, to plant growing to friut growing. If you have a pumpkin thats a keeper, start thinking in trems of fruit growth. If you think you want to try something farther down the line keep playing it safe and stick to just seaweed and tea for now.

Next year I will have a patch that is better prepared and will be able to rely on organic, as for the remainder of this season if I have to go synthetic or go heavy with ferts to get some more growth as in girth from stump to fruit I don't have a problem with that at this stage. I just thought someone might know an ancient chinese secret. thanks ghopson
