let's say the normal range for potassium is 3-5% and your tissue test indicates a potassium level of 2.8%
how accurate is this number? is this necessarily a deficiency? if it was tested again, could the potassium level come back in the 3-5% range, or are these tests accurate enough that 2.8% definitely indicates a deficiency?
Just curious what opinions on this are.

I'm lucky enough to work in an agricultural lab and know that your 2.8% could be retested and come back different. Results for tissue testing are not meant to be perfect reflections of a tissues' components... so your 2.8% lets you know that your on the low side of K. I also am low in K. I found that out from my tissue test. K is important because it's an electrolyte that'll help transport other macronutrients. My boss suggested Potassium Hydroxide or Potassium Carbonate. I'd be careful though because too much K will cause early maturation of your pumpkins. I'd be interested to hear what others have to say too.
