I have a really nice female that I think isgonna bloom tomorrow but my males are taking too damn long to open and now I'm not gonna have anything to pollinate with! >:( About how long should it take for a male flower to mature and how long do you guys think my second female that is a few feet out from the good one I was gonna polinate to develop?

I believe you can do a forced entry if you have a male that is close. Cut off the unopened petals.

Ill take a wild stab at it, males should open in 3 days, and your female that is a few more feet out should open in 4, leaving you again with no males to pollinte your second female with? I think you might have one of them plants that will never have a female flower open the same day as your males do, so Id just try to see if I could grow the biggest leaf by measuring them once a day.

Of course Im kidding Sammy,,lol. On a serious note, It would be hard for anyone to give you a guess on how many days it takes a male to mature and when its going to open. But my guess is your going to have a male open the same time your second female out opens or even when your first female opens.

Maybe if you post where you are at in PA then perhpas someone near you might be able to give you a few males from their patch.

Big Jess,
YOu can always drive to Sayre and get some male pollen from my plants. I live 20 minutes away from you. YOu can get the males the night before your female is to open and put them in a glass in the fridge. I have some males left from great genetics, 1502 Wallace, 1402 Bobier, 1101 Checkon.

Maybe I don't watch them as closely, but it seems to me that the male flowers pop open a lot quicker than the females. After you've done this awhile, you'll know when the female will open. I've forced pollination before, a day or 2 before the flower opens with good results. If you still don't have males when the girl opens, try opening a few of the bigger males and see what you've got. Hope this helps!

If any of the males are even close you might force it open & apply heat th get the pollen to rise.
A road trip is the better idea.
