BiZ haZ really long fruits on the 1385.....Any one else having long fruits.......Mr Jutras.....Was the 1689 Long?

When they were very small, blossom stage and just after, they were long looking. Now they look to be taking on more of a shape like the 1689. Which I would say was rather round. That is my experience so far. How old are the fruits on the Biz's plant?

my 1385 pumpkin is about 22" long barrel shaped at 13 days and maybe 10 or 11" high perfect shape bright yellow,looking good:}

Hi Wiz The 1385 itself was a long fuit. The 1689 was a round, high fruit with a slighty recessed blossom. Both had nice color; it should be interesting to see the shapes of the offspring. The one I have is shaped more like the 1689 than the 1385 at basket ball sizes. Steve Sperry has two plants, one that is round and one that has a longer lenth; they all seem to have a nice color for their sizes. Most importantly though, it that they make it to the weight offs. Mine fruit are long with long skinny stems that just don't want to grow! The plant may have to get pulled.

The 1385 I have is a nice round fruit just about basketball size now. Nice plant to grow so far, no irregular tendancies.

1689 Jutras has long fruit. Very exciting, actually, to have a perfect looking little pumpkin there at this stage. Mine are usually too round. 1041.5 McKie is same and both are the kind of yellow that should turn orange, I think. And "Yes, I'm crossing them both ways!)
