I pollinated our 1233 Reiss this morning with the 1689 Jutras. The ovaries were not in their usual order but all mixed up, very crowded, and crooked. Some of the ovaries were sideways. I didn't see any immature seeds in with the ovaries which I know is a bad sign. Are mixed up ovaries ok or should I cull now? - Creek and son
PS I read on one of the message boards that there is some controversy around the 1233 Reiss. I haven't heard anything. Could someone clue me in. Thanks.

The pumpkin I grew on the 1233 Reiss went 25% heavy, and was a nice, shiny orange. 733 lbs., was my personal best at the time.

Are the funny ovaries a problem?
