Hello, Yesterday I was in my patch and everything looked perfect. Today I went out and saw a dead/dying leaf. Is this something natural or will it spread? It is located on the main vine 3 inches from the stump. Here is two pictures: any comments are appreciated. http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/5866/dsc03944oe7.jpg http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/2320/dsc03943ll3.jpg

Those are probably the original true leaves. From what I've read elsewhere this seems to be normal. Mine pumpkins are doing this, too. As to whether or not it will spread I don't know, though I err on the side that it won't. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge will chime in.

This typically happens with my old leafs at the stump as well. Not sure if there is anything you can do to stop it. I think since they are older and with higher temperatures this is pretty typical.
