hey all

I received my seeds last week from dill's and got them all in the ground. ground was tilled to a depth of about 3 feet and worked with tons of great soil and compost.

the best i can explain my soil texture now is a sandy/firm.
seems like it would be great of growing.

i planted about 25 plants with 7 of them being giants. the others are various "standard" pumpkins. About 14 have emerged from the soil with today being the middle of the 5th day since I planted them.

ok on to my questions.

some of them i feel I may have planted to deep. should i scrape away some soil? or just leave it alone for a few more days? If i did plant a bit to deep is the worst thing that can happen they take a bit longer to emerge?

for the ones that have come out should to do anything special to help them along or just keep up with my watering and fert.

sorry for all the questions. I got a very late start and this is my first year so i'm a bit on edge about them. we have a huge halloween party every year and REALLY want to have a real pumpkin patch at it. we are in florida so i should have enough time to get some nice pumpkins going. (fingers crossed)

haha ok thanks.

got to relax a bit this morning when i woke up to find 4 more plants breaking free and two more atlantic giant plants. I have way more plants then i will be able to tend to but i figure i will let them grow for a bit and chose the best ones.
