Does anyone know what would cause some parts of my leaves to wilt on the pumpkin vine? We did get a big rain about 2 nights ago, and it's been muggy out. Any thoughts on that? Thanks

Immature root system at those locations. Probably all it is.

This is my first year growing pumkins, is there anything I can do to perk them up?

Also forgot to add one of my larger pumpkins are on one of the vines that are wilted, does this harm the pumpkin, or just the leaves on the vine?

Do the leaves perk back up at night? If so it is probably wilt from the sun and heat. Partial sun screen or misting water during the heat of the day should help that.

Haven't noticed any borers, and this is the first day the leaves looked wilted, so we shaded them more today....parts of the vines were in direct sunlight. Any other ideas?

It is normal for the leaves to wilt after a heavy rain. Many plants do it. The leaves are very tender after the rain and the roots are struggling to get enough air. The wilting should ease up in a few days.

Well so I thought the leaves were looking better. They are wilted in the morning, then perk up by late afternoon. Some of the leaves are dying(more are alive than dead) The pumpkin on this particular vine looks like it's yellowing......but not in a good way, and there is some yellow substance oozing from the vines of this plant. What happened, and how can I prevent this from happening to my other plants?
