From what I can tell all the blooms on my gourd and pumpkin plants are males. Why don't I have any females?

Kat, your females should have the tiny pumpkin under the bloom and have a very short stem. males will be on a long stem. How far along are your plants. It's normal for males to show up before you see females. Hey, email me. I'm not very far from you and we have a large group of growers who are in the first year stage of starting the Virginia Giant Vegetable Growers Association. [email protected]
