For something real cheap, go to WalMart and buy some garlic powder. Here is is $0.50 per bottle. Just sprinkle it around and it works well as a repellant. If your plant is normal size for this time of year, maybe one bottle per plant. After a couple of rains you might have to re-apply. The nice thing about garlic is that it is safe to use.
There are also some insecticides you can buy at a reasonable price, like Triazide. The ready to use varieties in the pump spray bottle are easiest. Just check the label to make sure that they are labeled to control the target bug. Some dusts, like Sevin or Eight may work too. Be very careful when applying insecticides, wear rubber gloves, don't get any overspray on you or your clothes and wash up your self and your clothes after applying. Maybe your parents can help with insecticides if you use them.

I use an insecicide called Eight it is for vegetables and is very gentle but knocks them dead right away. Dont spray in heat of day or you will burn your leaves.

I've been using Garlic Barrier and haven't seen a cucumber beetle all season. Price was about $14 for a bottle.

When sprinkling the garlic powder, is that on the ground?

I have seen just basic seven work wonders on the cuke beetles. Spray some seven on them ASAP.

fyi Eight is the next incarnation of Sevin. I'm not sure of all of the differences but 7 is harmful to bees 8 isn't.
I've been sprinkling the Garlic Powder all over the plant, seems to work pretty good. Combined with Neptunes Harvest and Alaska 5-1-1, Smells Great!! Like a heavily spiced fish that has been sitting in the sun for a couple days. kevin

I put the garlic powder on the leaves and on the ground. If you get it under the leaves where it is protected some from rain I think it lasts longer. It really works well for me.

It might work, but have never tried it. We are getting hammered with rain again, so I don't want to put a drop of extra water on the plants right now. I know that there are some commercial garlic sprays on the market. I just tried the powder because it was so cheap and it worked.
