heads up to keep a close eye on stumps as the 60 day old leaves start running their coarse. removed an early true leaf today that was getting a little mushy at the base. cut it clean dried it off, and captan was applied after letting the fresh cut dry out completely. remember to cut flat so their isn't a little old stalk left that will birdbath, hold water, and rot out the area eventually. a 10 percent bleach solution is a good idea after the cut, and i read somewhere that pap recommended rubbing alcohol, but have never tried it. sounds like it should work great too.

Pap told me rubbing alcohol, and didn't matter what strength (70%, 91% or 99%)... as for the other kind, you have that AFTER you get through sweating in the patch.
