Got hail here this week as well. Golf ball sized and lasted for abut 5 min. It cut through some of my vines like a knife.

A few weeks back it hailed here two days in a row! Couldn't believe it. Usually we get hail about every three years. Had given an extra plant to a teenage friend of my son and his mother told me he was out in the hailstorm with an umbrella trying to protect his patch. It worked, as he didn't have much leaf damage. My plants are recovering, though, thank goodness.

Welcome to our world. Colorado is hail capital USA. All of my original leaves look like swiss cheese. The heavens have been kind for the last 4 weeks for me fortunately. I know some of our growers here haven't been as fortunate. Hope your plants recover quickly. I'm growing on a secondary this year because of hail earlier this year.

Holes from hail here too. Also, seems like thunderstorms everyday with high winds. Lots of twisted and cracked vines. Don't get behind on burying or the wind will do a number on the secondaries.

There is rumor that most of the growers from Circleville like Dr Liggett, Speakman and the rest of their crew got slammed by a hail storm that riddled there patches to nothing, even the vines was all shredded up, they said season is over for them. The hail came down so hard and for a long period of time, said the storm came in so fast they didn't have time to react to cover the plants up, and these are the guys with hail covers already installed at there patch.
My Dad lives 14 Miles away from Circleville and he was real lucky because he was on the outter edge of that storm, only a few holes in a couple leaves.

last week i had 5 rounds of hail and 5 inch rain in 1 day hail poked a dent in 2 little females that opened afterwords now they both have a hole in there side as they stretch -the holes in leafs help let wind go thru easier-i keep saying that as i mumble and cuss i had picnic tables over ends of plants and females -sideways hail this time in strong wind

Pap,Extremely strange weather year so far. Hot April, cold May, almost every thunderstorm in June had strong winds and hail associated with it. Not sure what July will bring, but I’m sure the fun will continue.
