On two of my plants I will have females that look the same size....on one plant it will take 2-3 days to develop and open and on my other plant that same smallish looking female will be open and pollinated by 10am the next day...is this normal? Is this a sign of a strong plant?

Its not unusual for females to take different amounts of time to develope from one plant to the next. Don't read too much into this, just watch your plants.
