Dark green blotches will appear,,,and your leafs will krinkle alittlebit,,,,and once you have it ,,there is no controling it!,,,,and it will be hard to get a pumpkin to set ,,,,,best thing you can do for it ,is ,,find another place to plant.

I alternated Myclobutanil (Immunox) and Fosetyl Aluminium (Aliette) to stop mosaic. The symptoms started at the basil crown leaves and spread outward. Ya gotta deal with it now. Best wishes!

I've dealt with watermelon mosaic for years. There is no control. Symptoms starts on new growth, does not move back into old growth. Several problems can look like mosaic. Almost for sure your fruits set after infection will have green blotches. Mosaic overwinters in live plant tissue.
Ways I deal with it: control weeds in and around patch, better insecticide program in and around patch, don't pull weeds while pruning, 2 years ago I started washing my hands with rubbing alcohol between pruning plants I didn't see symptoms until August pb went up 30% (1209 lbs).
If you can get a fruit set before plant get infected it will continue to grow and look normal, although at a slower pace.

There is no chemical control of Mosaic. The best we can do is repel aphids which are the most common vector. No insecticide works fast enough to halt the transfer (as little as 6 seconds). Garlic Barrier can repel aphids effectively enough to prevent CMV.

Follow Pap's advice & get this identified. We can only deal with the knowns. Everything else is speculation.

I dealt with the same issue a few years back...in the same patch I'm still growing in. The leaves were all blotchy, miss-shapen, vine severely stunted, blotchy green spots on babies. I talked to a soil expert from Kellogs ('Ty')and he told me to solarize the patch with plastic and this will help greatly. It did. I solarize every Spring now and last year we set a Pb of 1376 lbs.
