giant pumpkin peep

Columbus,ohio

Hello...I'm only 13 and trying to grow giants for the first year. My goal this year is 100 pounds and im behind. Any way does anyone else know younger growers or is a younger grower. Sorry about weird wording. It is summer and my brain is a little slow.

Give yourself little credit!!! 100lbs???? Go for a goal of 300!!!! I am sure you can do it. Positive thinking leads to positive results! Not only in pumpkin growing, but in life!! Not thumpin' the bible here, just talking from experience!!!

I am 14! He Gp peep, E-mail me if you have any questions
I'm no expert but I can probalby answer your questions if I have any.

- I started growing giant pumpkins when I was 12, I grew a 203.5 lb pumpkin - If you reach for the stars you might as well aim for them (does this make sence? lol)

Welcome to a wonderful hobby and good luck!

I'm 20, but I started at the ripe old age of 10. I was one of the first growers on this site. I saw a special on HG t.v. about giant pumpkins when I was 9 and I have been hooked ever since. I've only gotten one to 200 pounds in 2002. Hopefully I'll get one bigger this year, my goal is 300 pounds. If any of you younger growers want some growing tips. Either I or some of the other veteran growers can hook you up.

I'm 19 and have been hooked ever since I started a few years ago. My first AG was about 125lbs at 16, the next year I stumbled upon this site and learned a ton just from looking at peoples diaries and reading what they wrote. That summer I did a ton of work and got pretty luck and grew a 573.5 and a 325. This last fall I grew a 601 but that was with a lot of luck towards the end of the season after my biggest split open. That would have been close to 700 but stuff like that happens. This year I started late but if you trust the plants this will turn out OK. One of the most important things to do is set goals and find ways to achieve those goals by learning more.
