hi i am a new grower and i am wondering if i should cut off some of the flowers on the plant cause there is a lot of them and i heard that they are bad.

here`s the deal,,if your not going to use them ,,cut them!! they draw bugs !!,,,,,just helps, with bug control, alittlebit

Don't fry the flowers if you're using Merit and/or Talstar. Those two make your pumpkin vine and all parts inedible. Including the seeds. You can grow the seeds but you can't eat them.

When soil applied, imidacloprid does not translocate to flowers or fruit hence the reason it is used in commercial vegetable production. If these insecticides are foliar applied they also should not be used when crops are in flower for the same reason.
Flowers + insecticides = dead bees.

Flowers and Insecticides equals dead bees only if you don't go actively prune off. It is my daily duty to inspect vines and take off preblooms if I can find them or any yellow I do find for that reason. I try to only let what I want to bloom where I want it to bloom. Sneaky vines can thwart my best plans though.
