If this happens every year then I can'thelp but wonder why you haven't already sprayed Lambda-cyhalothrin. If you haven't yet, you have several hours yet before the sun goes down.

Here I'm using Merit 75% and Talstar (6.9% bifren...spelling it is beyond me tonight) at 1/8th teaspoon Merit and 1/2 oz Talstar to a gallon. Dedicate a brand new sprayer to this, trust me. And wear a paint vapor respirator and cover up and use rubber chemical gloves. Spray in the last two hours before dark, top and bottom of leaves, and drench ground especially around stump. Next morning right after sun is up, water plant to get the Merit to be taken up. Repeat every ten days.

You can't eat the fruit, the flowers, or the seeds, but. It kills just about everything that wants to really munch on your plant. I will swear by it after another told me. Here we found one on 10 June so we have sprayed that day and every tenth day since (and found one on the 18th in another patch) and will do so until harvest. Next round is Monday the 30th...

Spray will burn leaves so protect/avoid the last five inches (12-13 cm) of the growing tips as you spray. Any heat or sun will burn leaves, that's why you spray at evening and water in in the morning. The Talstar is a contact, the insect lands and gets it and dies... the Merit is taken up by the plant and kills the insect when it tries to munch.

Thank VTJohn and Urban Farmer (Frantz) for that recipe.
