With eyes of grandeur my sons and I were wondering if their is prize money for breaking the world record? and is their anything special if/when the 2000 pound barrier is broken?

lots of honors accompany a world record grower.
as for money if weighed at a gpc site the grower gets first place gpc money award, plus the presentation of the coveted orange jacket ( to me the highest honor )plus his or her local weigh-of winnings, plus travel paid to attend and speak at various winter seminars, someone might even buy the dam thing to carve out or ship off to some foreign land, plus if your a good salesperson much free product for your plants.
oh ya--- a minimum of 400 bubble pack seed requests as well as all the new friends you could ever want.
someone might write a book about you, tv stations will interview you, you might even become a rock star if you got the look-lol
ya know the best thing about being a world record holder? just knowing that out of the thousands of good growers who put plant to soil that for that year you were the best of the best.
