Ok, totally new at this whole big pumpkin thing, but I believe I have 2 main vines and the primary main vine (is there even such a thing?) has what I believe is some splits in it. It has been growing really well lately, even though I know I am behind. Can someone help me to identify the problem. I will be posting photos on my diary in about 5 minutes...please help!

OK, wasn't aware that it could take up a day for images to be submitted into my diary. I guess you can look for them tomorrow.

ok from what i see it looks like a secondarie coming of the stump, i dont no if you know about secondaries or not but if there come out right on your stump i would culled it so my stump does"nt split.

ok i took a better look at it and it's not by your stump is it you just buryed your vine and i noticed the color was not the same on the two vines so it could be a split, did your mains bud get all goofy and you just let it go?

maybe the photos are bad. The split is on the main vine very close to the stump. I did turn the vine slowly to go in the direction I want. I almost wonder if I put too much stress on the bend of the vine. as for the second vine. it seems to be coming out of same place on the stump that the main vine is.

if it's coming of the stump and the main is down the line it's a secondarie, and if its right on the stump i would culled it becaues of stress on the stump but thats just me.
