Hi all,
I'm a brand new grower from Maryland. I'm fascinated by the site, the knowledge, and the camaraderie here!
I'm also freaked out because I have no idea what I'm doing. I put some seeds in the ground in early May. Just some Burpee prizewinners. They plants look big (to me), but they've started to develop a patchy, white cast on a few leaves. Is this powdery mildew?
Thanks much for any insight.

Steve, you'll have to post a picture to get any good answers.

The site search box in the top right corner is a great help, ask it anything and you will get a answer at least somewhat close to what your looking for. Try the Links in the main menue, click on Maine Pumpkin growers association, alot of helpful info there also.

I've noticed over the years that some smaller pumpkin types randomly get a white film patchiness on them. As far as I can tell, it's never affected the growth... just must be some genetic quirk. It is pretty darn early to be seeing powdery mildew.
