Did the test. Made the amendments per test. Shaker, this is kind of like golf to me on an unfamiliar course. I'm no Tiger, Jutras or Wallace! But I do love to shoot par. Dislike bogeys. And hate to have something worse because I was affraid to ask how the course laid. Thats why I ask. Just trying to make par, and enjoying every minute of it!

I love it when people dive in head first, I wouldn't do it any other way myself.

pumpkins put on weight with water...if you haven't had rain and then it rains it's gonna try to put on fifty pounds in one night...it will blow it's nose out....Once they start they want water can't dry em out then think the pumpkin will expand again....just keep it as even as you can. GrowEmBig!

Definaitely still in a drought in my immediate area. No rain for last three weeks. Using drip irrigation and 2 acre pond for water source. Trying to keep moist but not wet. Dug a test hole this morning to confirm moisture level. Soil would hold shape when squeezed but not excessively wet. Pumpkin is wheel shaped and starting to list to the vine side. Doesn't seem to have stress on vine but thinking of trying to prop her up so she doesn't fall if she starts growing again.
