It was 108f yesterday in a San Luis Obispo Ca. Broke all time record for that date. SLO is 15 miles from Ocean and another Beach town Avila Beach was 109f, too Hot! My poor AG's are taking a beating, but are coming through this in great shape, so far? Man these AG's are tough plants! How is everyone doing?

So weird that in the high desert is cooler than the coast. I am right up agaist the mountains so I am protected from the heat or wind that comes from the coast. I don't think we hit 90 yesterday. I misted the plants twice. They seem to handle the heat pretty good. There roots are way out and deep. Here is my forcast.

2 June, 105F, 5% humidity, SSSW wind at 37 gusting to 57mph
Since then we've had four more days over 100 already. Usually with our low humidity and average sustained winds of 25mph or more, AND drought conditions (since 01/01 we have had less than three inches of rain) it is difficult to get enough moisture into the ground to keep stuff alive. Brutal sun as we are at altitude as well. We are at least six weeks ahead on our average sustained temperatures as well... it is going to be a long hot dry summer here.
Glad I had nearly two decades at 'high desert' at higher altitude; gave me some ways to cope. (water, shade, wind protection, water crystals, mulch, etc)[moved one zone warmer, from 5a to 6a]
Good luck there, keep'em happy and grow them big!
