I assume most everyone has been seeing the floods in the midwest and my turf... Iowa? Man what a nasty year it has been here in Iowa since December. First record snow now record rain. Here is a pic of the flood wall that I have built TWICE this year. http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Weather/Story?id=5175741&page=2
That is my grandmas house and my uncle watching the pumps.
My patch is in bad shape from all this rain.
Good luck to everyone in the flood waters!
Mike

Mike,
I hope you come out with your health first and foremost, and everything will be okay. You have been in my prayers and thoughts along with other Iowa residents. I hear Steve Krug wasn't so lucky, but other Iowegans have been "okay". Take care and best of luck with the recovery.

Sorry Mike. Between the dry weather in Georgia and the floods of Iowa... I wish you and your family the best. Stay dry.

Good Lord..."Russ Ogden watches over pumps that are keeping water out of his mother Dolores Ogden's home in Davenport, Iowa Sunday June 15, 2008. An army of family member built a wall around the home, where Dolores has lived since 1951, and removed the furnace and water heater."
I can well understand removing the water heater & furnace. I just can't imagine the expense burden this places on the average home owner. Let me guess; insurance won't even consider paying for it?
My Prayers are with all the Iowageians.

Mike I wish you well and everyone back that has this happening to them. It is hard to understand why things like this happens. Pray you and your neighbors are safe

I was lamenting the other day about some of the downfalls we have experienced so far this year and then I thought about Iowa. I felt ashamed of myself.

I just finished watching the bucket list and they had a scene with Jack Nicholson (being treated with chemo) puking his guts out and wrenching horribly.. He looks up and says "Some lucky S.O.B is having a heart attack somewhere". It shows to go ya... Just when you think you got it bad, some one else has it worse....
