Do these AG's have a life expectancy in number of relative days or can they produce just as large a pumpkin set later in the plants life farther out the main? I didn't coyote proof my pumpkin.

Sun light and Temperature is the major factor. A pumpkin plant itself will live several years if pruned properly and given the right conditions.

At this time of year I would try again further up. What's to lose. You have both sun and heat. Wisconsin gets colder in October as Shannon is stating leading to a shorter outdoor season.
