One of my plants had the vain mine start sticking up in the air 2 days ago, today before work this afternoon is was starting to come down by gravity. When i got home tonight at midnight, the tip was basically just about on the ground.

I am sure the MAJOR storms we had weighted it down.
My question is: some of the big leaves on the mian vine are now not standing up straight and are crocked, should I lift the vine up alittle so it doesnt snap with all the rain coming in the next week or not?

It is pulling the whole plant over, is this normal??

I have 2 crossed poles holding it up right now.

As for the leaves not standing up straight, the sunlight will pull them back up for the most part. Let nature take care of that. If the tip is on the ground let it stay on the ground. Use bamboo sticks or something like them to suport the vine side to side and keep the wind from blowing it around. Plastic coathangers cut in half and pushed into the soil over top of the vines is also a good idea to keep the wind damage to a minimum. Sounds like to me right now you are right on track.

perhaps also put a small plastic table over the plant
so the rain doesn't get onto the plant nearly as much,
if that remains a concern.
you get what you pay for, if you put into it.

Jeremy,
In a day or two those leaves should stand back up and look normal, as they adjust to the sun's orientation. That is if there's no damage to the leaf stems. Pretty much what Mark stated.

I helped Doug last week lay his main vine down.. SInce he usually kicks my ass yearly at our prestigious weighoff in Delano, Minnesota (Big Money, Cool prizes)(Anyone can come.. I've got the cooler stocked) I helped Doug by applying the left tire of my truck to his main vine.. Hope it helped....lol PS. Doug, You really are in trouble this year!! Joe
