Here in montana with temp's that would normaly be in the 70s and 80s Iv find myself trapped in a hell of cold weather rain wind and hail for the last three weeks. And yesterday, a whole month after the last frost i wake up to find that all my best plants have been froze inside of their protective greenhouse! Is this crazy or what??? This is expecial weird since all the rest of the county is in a heat wave while Im debateing whether i better start the stove just to keep warm...lol and to add insult to injury its goin to freeze tonight and tomorrow! After finding my pumpkins devistated later that day hail pounded my veggies that wernt damaged by the frost! I know I'm not in a major floor or tornados like others in this country but cant a guy catch a break! Is anyone else out there as angry at the weather as me feel free to vent on this post.

While we not have had frost this month, we have had very cool weather. Mains are only growing about an inch a day for the last two weeks. Plants appear a bit pale. It's not looking good as to pollinating the first week of July.
The PNW is not likely to set any National Records this year...even though the Farmer's Almanac had predicted a warm summer.

well all the big leafs were froze but the new leafs are still alive at the stump of the pumpkin, hopefully they with be able to come back and make a fruit.. I hope :)
sadly the 1040neuville and 940hoffman were killed when their shelter blew off and severed them off. Luckily the weather is going to turn around tomorrow and I hope..I hope sunny days are here again. I have 3 plants that were covered by a laundy tub and were not efferted so i gues they will be the center of my focus now.

wow jwest i wish i wasnt so far away from Butte, I have gone through 2 packs of watermelon seeds and i cant even get a germantion on them. I guess i should have started them inside. It must have to be alot warmer for melons than pumpkins to germinate guess I have alot to learn yet but theres always next year. Thanks for the offer Jim but i am just gonna try and limp by with the plants i have this year and ya never know, If the weather cooperates i think i could still get a decent pumpkin. If i do get a decent fruit i will deffenitly try and make it to the weighoff! Im gunnin to beat your record but if nothing else it would be great to chat and learn some tricks from you and other montana pumkin growers
