I'm starting to organize my misting system for the giants and was wondering what intervals growers set between mists. i.e. 30 seconds of mist every 20 min. from 11am to 4pm.

we generally mist 2 min out of ten...but depending on temp and humidity have misted up to 5 out of ten on extreme days...sometimes we change it up to 1.5 every 5 ....but generally 2 to 3 minutes out of ten does a decent job

Creek, I agree with Dan Carlson. What he wrote is exactly what I do too. It just depends on how hot the day is going to be. I usually start the cycle around 10am. Sometimes 11am is too late and the damage is already done.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone run them continuously? Say from 11-4.

On hot, hot days I run them all day. I get the heat and the wind at the same time. I think your soil type also makes a difference. I have sandy loam.

I am dealing with 100 degree days, and I have a Nelson water timer. It has a mist cycle that mists for 20 seconds every 5 minutes. I do this from 1200-300 pm. Then I mist 1 minute every 15 minutes up until 500 pm.

I run my misters for 5 sec. every other min. from 10:00 - 5:00. It seems to work well for my location. Dripworks has some great timers and the other supplies needed.
