Andy, I can't tell either way by that pic. Are there two or more leaves opening at the same time(and are the same size)? From your pic it doesn't look abnormal to me. I think a pic of the newer growth on the plant would be more helpful.

That looks like one of my plants, but mine's not doubled. For some reason it just grew heavy through the first 6" or so. The growing tip on mine looks normal, that's where you want to check yours.

Thanks for the responses, I've never had a double or flat vine before, the reason for the post. In all other respects, the plant appears normal.

yeah, from all that i can see it is a normal, VERY nice-looking plant. concerning long gourd plants in your diary, yes, they looked really leggy and about half the people on this site do, don't, will if no one knows, might have in the past, will someday if they can afford it.... keep the lights on all your cucurbits, 4-foot, 40-watt flourescent lights at a distance of 1-3 inches above the growing plants, until weather conditions are right for planting out. it takes all kinds, lol. plant looks good--eg

Thanks for the replies. Regarding the long gourds, appreciate the advice. I don't expect a lot this year, just trying them out for fun.
