Ok this is a plea for any suggestions for obtaining economical strong strapping to attach to my lifting ring?
How long should the strapping be?

Make it from "seat belt" strapping... Good ones you can buy are made from that.

The PGPGA was selling them last year, I got one for $150. It worked great and I used the straps to help secure the pumpkin in the pickup truck bed.
