Will it hurt you a lot if you lose a few true leaves when you are in the early stages of growing a plant?

it may set you back a little, but over all should not kill the plant

I had one plant a few years ago that the sun had burned almost 75% of the leaves off. It set it back a bit but then it took off with a vengance.

Why rip it out before giving it a chance? These things can surprise you at just how much they can recover from.

I see the Jeremy has much to learn about giant pumpkins. Loosing the first two leaves is nothing compared to what some plants have endured and still produced a nice pumpkin. Of course, if you have ten more plants....no sweat!
