How far past the stump do you begin to bury your main vine?

Many people don't even bury the main, just the secondaries. Different strokes for different folks.

we start to bury main as soon as possible. usually a couple ft from the stump. we also bury all side out to 12 ft . then go back and uncover the main begining at start of august on the east coast burying helps root growth and also make it much more difficult for boaring insects to enter plant. uncovering the main after boarer season allows the main to breath and also allows you to spot any main vine problems during inspection. pap
