Again, age old question, how far down main vine do we "set" pumpkin?

I wouldn`t set no less them ten feet ,,,thats the way most of the growers go by ,,but 12 to 15 is even better,,,more plant behind the pumpkin ,,,bigger the pumpkin,,someone told me ,its like this ,,,if you were going into battle,,, would you like to have 10 people behind you ? or 100? the same gose for pumpkins ,hope this helps ,,,Rob
