On two of my three plants the first true leaf is deformed severely. There are signs of new growth at the axis of the cots. should I wait and watch or abort?

I would wait. Poor thing went through alot with birth. Have an extra on hand just in case but watch it. I have had them deformed and the next two leaves are fine.

Don't worry about it. I had some strange looking leaves too, but everything worked out fine.
