so you think your serious about growing Giant Pumpkin's ?

well i met the master...
we have all seen the post where people take vacations during pumpkin season and all the flak they catch from us "serious Pumpkin growers"

well my good friend Mark Fowler (hoots dirt) hands down the winner.
Mark called me the other day and said he and Teresa were taken a vacation to the coast and wanted to know if we could get together for dinner one night...

well conversation got around to pumpkins.
Asked Mark who was taking care of his plants while he was on vacation?.
Mark's reply -"no-one"

No-one!!! I replied

"just cant trust anyone with my AG's!!!!

"I'm Taking-em with me"

after a long pause i didn't know what to say.....

I had vision's of Mark boogie boarding with his AG's in the breakers at the ocean front..
and Taken his AG's on the roller coaster ride at Busch Gardens...

wonder if Mark will bring the pumpkin plants to dinner with us ???

Of course he will...what else would a serious pumpkin grower do

Ok, yeah so I'm nuts. The way I figure it I have to take my wife on vacation or get kicked out of the house. So I talked her into going a little early before the growing really gets busy. I mean tell me truthfully...do any of you REALLY trust anyone else with your plants??? If you're honest you will answer a big "NO"! Therefor I felt I had no option but to load'em up and take them with us. Hell they will have a good time to! The ocean breeze may do them good. A good ride on a fast roller coaster will harden those plants off quicker than anything else! How could anyone say this is a bad idea???

littlebit, I needed help LONG before this idea came about!!! lol

Now, since my good buddy Ed started this post I will leave it up to him (in his good time of course) to tell the real story. And knowing him that one could scary too!!! lol

Ok ok let me put another "Southern slant" (white lie if you will) on this story.

Fact: Mark is taking a AG plant on vacation with him..
Fiction: the plant is not going on a roller coaster ride..
(the plant doesnt meet the height regulations)
Fact: my buddy will dip his toes in the cold Atlantic
ocean
Fiction: the Ag doesnt like salt water will stay on the
blanket.Ag doesnt have toes..
Fact: Mark is one of the best friends anyone could have.
like pap has said "there aint no bad pumpkin people"
Mark is proof of that..
He is doing me a HUGE favor and bringing me a the AG
Plant for my pumpkin patch.
I lost my 1235 Daletas.....Mark had a plant started
and was willing to pass my way.....
Fiction: a 1068 Wallace how could i say no (fiction)
Ok a 1110 Wallace !!! awesome plant will fit
very well in my line up..

so the truth being while my buddy is on vacation he was kind enough to take the 1110Wallace on vacation with him...
not many people would take time and effort of doing such a nice thing on there vavation..

Fact: Mark & Teresa I paying for dinner this year...

What about the just plain poor people that can't take a vacation, so all they have are there pumpkins. It strikes me as funny that you are taking plants along with you on a vacation and ur wife is totally cool with it. LOL. But wow great devotion.... I have one plant left, so I am doing what ever a poor person can do to keep it going... So let go 1068 Rahe!!! LOL. Truthfully have fun on ur vacation.
